Intimate Stoke Newington Town Hall wedding | Fiona + Maia
When Fiona and Maia booked me to photograph their Stoke Newington Town Hall wedding I asked what they most wanted from their photography. They said: “To capture our happiness and love - between us both but also between all of us.“ Sure enough, love was everywhere throughout their day, expressed in warm glances, tender touches, bear hugs, tears of joy… You couldn’t miss it. What a lovely set of families, all so clearly doting on each other.
A wedding doesn’t need all the bells and whistles to be truly memorable and beautiful.
It was a weekday micro-wedding on a scorching hot Friday afternoon. An intimate affair to begin with, just Maia and Fiona, their daughters, parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. After the ceremony at Stoke Newington Town Hall, we stopped for drinks over the road at the Rose & Crown pub, before heading to Aun on Church St for a Japanese-fusion meal. Later on, there was a street party for friends and neighbours, with take-out pizza.
Simple, warm, connected and full of love. A wedding doesn’t need all the bells and whistles to be truly memorable and beautiful. I loved photographing Fiona and Maia’s intimate Stoke Newington town hall wedding, it really was an honour to be a part of their emotional day.
